1. Duden Waterfalls — 20 Minutes

Distance: 10 km from centre
Drive: 15–20 min
Entry: ~100 TL

Two waterfalls: Upper Duden (park setting, walk behind the curtain of water) and Lower Duden (plunges off a cliff directly into the sea — one of Antalya's signature sights). Visit Upper in the morning, Lower at sunset.

Parking: free at Upper, paid at Lower.

2. Koprulu Canyon & Rafting — 1.5 Hours

Distance: 90 km (via Serik)
Drive: 1.5 hrs
Entry: free (rafting from €15)

A national park with a turquoise river, Roman bridge, and cypress forests. Drive along the canyon rim, stop at viewpoints, swim in the river. Rafting is optional but recommended.

Car needed: any — road is fully paved.

3. Termessos — 40 Minutes

Distance: 35 km
Drive: 40 min
Entry: ~100 TL

Ancient ruins at 1,000 m altitude — the city that even Alexander the Great couldn't conquer. A theatre overlooking the mountains, a necropolis among pine trees. One of Turkey's most atmospheric archaeological sites.

Parking: free at the entrance.
Car needed: any — last 5 km are switchbacks, but paved.

4. Kas & Kalkan — 2.5 Hours

Distance: 190 km west
Drive: 2.5–3 hrs
Entry: free

Kas is a small bohemian town with hidden coves, yachts, and spectacular sunsets. The D400 drive there is one of Turkey's most scenic — serpentine roads with sea views at every turn. Kalkan is en route, quiet and charming.

Combine with: sunken city of Kekova (boat trip from Kas), Kaputas Beach (on the way).

Car needed: comfort class recommended — long and winding road.

5. Olympos & Cirali — 1.5 Hours

Distance: 80 km southwest
Drive: 1.5 hrs
Entry: Olympos ~100 TL, Chimaera ~70 TL

Ancient Olympos in a ravine by the sea, wild Cirali Beach (3 km of pebbles, sea turtles), and Mount Yanartas (Chimaera) — natural flames where gas escapes from the earth. The flames are most impressive at dusk and after dark.

Parking: free in Cirali, paid at Olympos.

7. Perge & Aspendos — 1 Hour

Distance: 15–50 km east
Drive: 20 min (Perge), 50 min (Aspendos)

Two of Turkey's greatest ancient cities. Perge has colonnades, a stadium, and an agora. Aspendos has the best-preserved Roman theatre in the world — still used for concerts today.

Day trip combo: Perge → lunch in Serik → Aspendos → Koprulu Canyon.

8. Green Canyon — 1.5 Hours

Distance: 80 km (via Manavgat)
Drive: 1.5 hrs

9. Pamukkale — 3 Hours

Distance: 240 km north
Drive: 3–3.5 hrs
Entry: ~700 TL (with Cleopatra's Pool)

White travertine terraces with thermal water plus the ancient city of Hierapolis. One of Turkey's most famous landmarks. Arrive early morning or at sunset for fewer crowds and better photos.

Car needed: comfort — it's a long drive. Minivan if travelling as a group.
Tip: consider an overnight stay — the area has thermal hotels.

10. Phaselis — 1 Hour

Distance: 60 km south (past Kemer)
Drive: 1 hr
Entry: ~100 TL

An ancient port city on the beach. Three bays with pristine water, ruins among pine trees. The ideal combination of history and swimming. Visit on a weekday — weekends can be crowded.

Parking: paid (~30 TL).

Which Car for Which Trip?
— City + nearby attractions: economy (Honda City, Renault Taliant)
— Coastal roads (Kas, Olympos): comfort (Citroen C4)
— Long distance (Pamukkale): comfort
— Group of 4+ people: minivan (Hyundai Staria)
— Mountain roads (Termessos): any with automatic transmission

Practical Tips
— Fill up before you go — mountain roads have few petrol stations
— Start early — leave by 7–8 AM to beat traffic and heat
— Bring water — especially in summer on mountain routes
— Google Maps works perfectly — all attractions and parking spots are marked
— Photo your parking spot — useful in crowded areas
